How to Make Easter M&M Cookies (Quick Overview)
The section below outlines a few details. The full process is located in the recipe card at the end of the post.
Preheat your oven to the temperature listed on the recipe card (at the end of the post). Combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a bowl, then set it aside.

In a separate bowl, cream the butter with both brown and white sugars until smooth. Add in the egg and vanilla…

… then gradually mix in the dry ingredients.

Fold in the chocolate chips…
The base chocolate chip cookie recipe used for these cookies contains a lot of chocolate chips. This makes for super tasty cookies, but all of the chocolate chips can make it a bit harder to place the bunny M&Ms. If you’d like to make the M&Ms a little easier to place, cut the chocolate chips down to 1 cup or 1 1/4 cups.

… and drop rounded tablespoons of the mixture onto ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake for 10 minutes. While the cookies are baking, use a pill cutter or a sharp knife to cut some M&Ms in half carefully (these will serve as bunny ears).

Once the cookies have baked for 10 minutes, remove them from the oven and quickly place the M&Ms on top to create bunny faces, gently pressing them into the warm cookies to secure them.
If you involve kids in the process of placing the M&Ms, move the cookies to a wire rack first so there are no burn risks. If the cookies cool off too fast for the M&Ms to stick, glue them onto the cookies using a small amount of decorating icing.
After adding the M&Ms, move the cookies to a wire rack to cool completely.

Serve and enjoy your delicious bunny cookies! 🐰
