  2. Powdered sugar: Make sure to use powdered sugar, not granulated sugar, for the smoothest texture.
  3. Heavy whipping cream
  4. Vanilla extract
  5. Berries of choice: I used strawberries, raspberries, and blackberries in the photos in this post. Blueberries are also an excellent choice, or any combination!

Photo 1: You’ll begin by making the homemade whipped topping, whipping it until you reach the stiff peaks phase.

Homemade Whipped Topping Note

If you’re super short on time, you can substitute the homemade whipped topping with an 8 oz container of Cool Whip. But I highly recommend that you make it from scratch. It’s really easy to do and, in my opinion, tastes so much better!

Photo 4: Fold the two mixtures together until they’ve combined.

Photo 5: Add your berries! 🍓 You can add any combo of 6-7 cups berries (strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries) to this dessert. Make sure they’re chilled before adding them.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 1/4 to 1/3 cup powdered sugar (depending on your sweetness preferences)
  • 6-7 cups chilled berries (see notes)

Homemade Whipped Topping

  • 1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1/3 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Begin by making Homemade Whipped Topping in a large bowl or stand mixer by mixing heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract.
  • Start on low-medium speed, then increase to high until stiff peaks form. Set aside.
  • To another large bowl, add cream cheese and powdered sugar. Again start on low-medium speed, then increase to high until cream cheese is light and fluffy.
  • Gently fold the Homemade Whipped Topping into the cream cheese mixture, followed by the berries.
  • Serve and enjoy!

Notes

You can add any combination of 6-7 cups berries (strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries) to this dessert. Make sure to slice the strawberries before adding them.

    I make this with blueberries or chocolate chips and it tastes wonderful! It is so satisfying for a dessert and so easy to make.
