Ingredients Needed for this Easy Cucumber Salad

Ingredient quantities for this easy cucumber salad recipe are located in the recipe card at the end of the post.

  1. English cucumbers: You can use regular seedless cucumbers if you can’t find English cucumbers, but they need to be peeled first.
  2. Red onion
  3. Fresh dill
  4. Red wine vinegar
  5. Salt
  6. Pepper
  7. Granulated sugar or honey: optional, if you’d like a little sweetness boost to your salad. I personally like it both with and without a sweetener.

How To Make Cucumber Salad (Quick Overview)

The steps below are just a quick overview of how to make the recipe. The full process in detail is located in the recipe card at the end of the post.

Start by prepping the vegetables. You’ll thinly slice both the cucumbers and the red onion, and then chop the dill.

Ideally, use English cucumbers in this recipe. They’re the kind that you’ll typically find individually wrapped in plastic wrap in the produce section. Unlike traditional cucumbers, they have a thin skin that doesn’t need to be peeled.

Next, use the remaining ingredients to make the dressing. The sugar or honey is optional and just depends on whether you’d like a touch of sweetness to your salad.

If desired, you can make the dressing ahead of time and store it in the fridge.

Pour the dressing over the vegetables.

Give everything a good stir, then loosely cover the container with plastic wrap.

Chill for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to combine.

Easy to make and really addicting. I had two helpings and barely noticed how much of my own dish I made. A couple of us were really devouring it with our grilled chicken.
