How To Make Air Fryer Chicken Wings (Quick Overview)

The steps below are just a quick overview of how to make the air fryer chicken recipe. The full process in detail is located in the recipe card at the end of the post.

  • If your air fryer has a preheat option, set it to 360°F. (If not, turn the air fryer on for 2-3 minutes at 360°F before adding the wings.)

After your air fryer is preheated, it’s time to make the wings! Here’s how:

  • Mix all dry ingredients in a small bowl.
  • Place chicken wings on a clean plate, pat them dry, and coat them evenly with olive oil.
  • Sprinkle the seasoning mix onto the wings and rub it in for an even coating.
  • Arrange the wings evenly in the air fryer basket, with space between them. Cook for 12 minutes.
  • Flip the wings using tongs and cook for another 12 minutes.
  • Increase the air fryer temperature to 390°F and continue cooking the wings for 6 minutes, flipping them at the 3-minute mark.

  • Check the internal temperature with a meat thermometer to ensure it reaches at least 165°F. The wings are done at this point, but for the best taste, aim for a range of 180°F-200°F. If needed, cook for an extra 2-5 minutes.
  • Serve the wings warm, optionally coated in wing sauce. Enjoy!

👩‍🍳 Notes

  • Depending on your air fryer’s size, you may need to cook in batches.
  • Be sure to follow food safety and use a meat thermometer! I highly recommend cooking your wings to the “best taste” range noted above.
