How To Make Buffalo Wings In The Air Fryer (Quick Overview)
The steps below are just a quick overview of how to make the chicken wings recipe. The full process in detail is located in the recipe card at the end of the post.
Prep: Preheat your air fryer to 360°F (if it doesn’t preheat, just run it empty for a couple of minutes). Lay the wings out evenly in the air fryer basket, make sure they don’t touch for the crispiest edges possible.
Get cooking: Cook them for 12 minutes, then flip them over for another 12-minute cook time. Then crank up the heat to 390 F and continue for another 6 minutes, flipping halfway through.
Make the sauce: While those wings are finishing up, mix all your sauce ingredients in a bowl to get that perfect Buffalo tang ready.
Meat thermometer time: Check for an internal sweet spot of at least 165°F, though 180°F-200°F is where the magic happens.
Time to serve: Drench those crispy wings in sauce, toss them to coat every nook and cranny, and serve them up hot. 🍗 Pair with blue cheese or ranch dressing!

Air Fryer Buffalo Wings

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lbs chicken wings bone-in and skin-on
Wing Sauce
- 1/4 cup Frank’s RedHot Wings Buffalo Sauce
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 4 tbsp butter melted
Instructions
- If your air fryer has a preheat option, set it to 360°F. (If not, turn the air fryer on for 2-3 minutes at 360°F before adding the wings.)
- Arrange the wings evenly in the air fryer basket, with space between them. (Depending on the air fryer’s size, you may need to cook in batches.) Cook for 12 minutes.
- Flip the wings using tongs and cook for another 12 minutes.
- Increase the air fryer temperature to 390°F and continue cooking the wings for 6 minutes, flipping them at the 3-minute mark.
- Once the wings are nearly cooked, add all sauce ingredients to a small bowl and mix thoroughly.
- Check the internal temperature with a meat thermometer to ensure it reaches at least 165°F. The wings are done at this point, but for the best taste, aim for a range of 180°F-200°F. If needed, cook for an extra 2-5 minutes.
- Remove the wings from the air fryer, coat them evenly in the sauce, and serve while warm.
