You can’t go wrong with Pumpkin Pie. 🥧 I call this easy dessert “Mostly Homemade Pumpkin Pie” because you have the option to “cheat” a little with the crust but still end up with an amazing Pumpkin Pie recipe that tastes completely homemade!

This delicious homemade Pumpkin Pie recipe uses canned pumpkin, not canned pumpkin pie mix, for a flavor that can’t be beat. It may take you an extra 30 seconds to bring canned pumpkin to life, but trust me, it’s worth the effort!
It also gives you the choice of using your favorite homemade pie crust recipe or a store-bought pie crust. You pick what works best for you and your schedule!

How To Make Pumpkin Pie with Pumpkin Pie Spice (Quick Overview)
The steps below are just a quick overview of how to make pumpkin pie with pumpkin pie spice. The full process in detail is located in the recipe card at the end of the post.
🥧 Step 1: Make the Pie Crust
Prepare and bake your pie crust. If using premade, follow the instructions on the packaging for best results.

🥧 Step 2: Make the Pie Filling

- Preheat oven to temperature on recipe card and combine all dry ingredients in a medium bowl. (Photo 1)
- Whisk eggs in a large bowl, then add pumpkin, ginger, and dry ingredients. (Photo 2) Mix until combined. (Photo 3)
- Slowly pour in heavy whipping cream while mixing with a hand mixer on low until heavy whipping cream is fully incorporated. (Photo 4)
- Pour into pie crust and place pie into preheated oven. (Photo 5)
- Bake for 10 minutes. Then remove pie from oven and place foil or a pie crust shield around the crust. (Photo 6)
- Reduce temperature to 350 F, then bake for another 40-50 minutes until a knife inserted into the center comes out clean. (Photo 7)
- Cool for 2 hours before cutting. Enjoy!

Easy (Mostly) Homemade Pumpkin Pie

Ingredients
- your favorite pie crust (homemade or store-bought)
- 3/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp ground cloves
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 14 oz pumpkin puree
- 1/2 tsp fresh ginger chopped
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
Instructions
- Prepare and bake your pie crust. If using premade, follow the instructions on the packaging for best results.

- Combine all dry ingredients in a medium bowl.
- Whisk eggs in a large bowl, then add pumpkin, ginger, and dry ingredients. Mix until combined.
