Ingredients Needed for Peanut Butter Magic Bars Recipe

Ingredient quantities are located in the recipe card at the end of the post.

  1. Pillsbury Ready to Bake! Peanut Butter Cookie Dough (either with or without mini Reese’s Pieces; I prefer the version with the Reese’s Pieces)
  2. Sweetened condensed milk
  3. Semi-sweet chocolate chips
  4. Flaked sweetened coconut
  5. Dry-roasted peanuts

Make sure you buy the cookie dough in the rectangular package, not in the tube.

How To Make Peanut Butter Magic Cookie Bars (Quick Overview)

The steps below are just a quick overview of how to make the homemade magic cookie bars. The full process in detail is located in the recipe card at the end of the post.

This recipe is SUPER easy!

Start by removing the cookie dough from the package and pressing it onto the bottom and slightly up the sides of a 9″ x 13″ casserole dish (sprayed with non-stick spray), making sure there aren’t any holes in the dough.

Want to switch up this recipe? Feel free to use any of the ready to bake cookie doughs! Pillsbury (or similar brands) offer a wide variety, including seasonal doughs.

Add chopped peanuts…

… and then the flaked coconut.

Finally, add the chocolate chips.

Then, using a spatula or back of a fork, press down on the top of the dessert to pack the ingredients and adhere them to each other.

Place in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes until lightly browned around the edges.

If you use cookie dough that’s safe to eat raw (check the package for a “safe to eat raw” designation), you can also make this dessert into a super gooey, underbaked variation that’s eaten with a spoon (and maybe with some ice cream or whipped cream on top 😀). If you want to try this version, see how you like the texture at 10 minutes bake time.
