Chili seasoning packets are convenient, but at $1 to $2 per packet, it’s so much cheaper to make your own. This recipe makes two packets worth for pennies on the dollar.

Ingredients Needed for Chili Seasoning Mix

  1. Chili powder
  2. Ground cumin
  3. Paprika
  4. Salt
  5. Dried oregano
  6. Garlic powder
  7. Black pepper
  8. Cayenne pepper
  9. Ground cinnamon (optional)

How To Make Homemade Chili Seasoning

Add all ingredients to a jar or container with a lid. Shake to combine, then get started on your chili. 🥣

This recipe replaces two packets of storebought chili seasoning.

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp chili powder
  • 2 tsp ground cumin
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

  • Combine all ingredients in a small storage jar or container. Place lid on jar and shake to combine.

Notes

  • Don’t like heat? Skip the cayenne.
  • Half of this recipe replaces one packet of chili seasoning.
